Trend Analysis of Dairy Products and Food Price Index in September

Source:     Time: 2015/10/9    Executive Editor: liuqian

According to the announcement released by United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO):

The average FAO dairy product price index in September was 142.3 points, 6.8 points higher than that in August (5%). The ascension of index appeared after the sharp decrease of previous month. The prices of all dairy products were stiffened, including the biggest increase in milk prices. This was mainly due to the fact that the increased quotation triggered New Zealand to significantly reduce the payments for farmers who were caused to cut down the scale of production.

The average FAO dairy product price index in September was 156.3 points, merely 1 point recovery if compared with the index value significantly declined in August, yet still 18.9% lower than that of previous year. The quotations for sugar and dairy products in last month remained strong, while the quotations for other commodities were still close to or slightly below their respective levels in August.
